What to Expect?

What Can I Expect Regarding the Application Process?

All prospective employees are screened in a variety of pre-employment processes in compliance with the Michigan Public Act 330 of 1968.

Pre-employment Screening Process

Your initial step is to thoroughly complete DK's formal application (download below).  Resumes will be accepted only in addition to the application. (All applicants must complete the standard application.)

The human resources and operations staff will review your resume and if you are deemed an appropriate candidate, you will be contacted for an interview.

After the interview, if you are selected to continue in the hiring process, you will be asked to complete the psychological testing portion of the hiring process.  After review of your test results, interview information and application, you may be offered a "conditional offer of employment."  If you accept the conditional offer, you will then partake in the additional screening methods of the process including fingerprinting, background screening and drug testing.

Criminal Record:  The comprehensive background screening identifies individuals who have committed federal or state felonies, misdemeanors in one’s county of residence, motor vehicle violations and social security number verification.  Fingerprints are sent to the Michigan Department of State Police and the FBI to verify that there are no outstanding warrants.

We will terminate any employee immediately upon notification by the Michigan State Police Private Security & Investigative Section that a criminal history exists disqualifying the employee from employment based on the requirements of Act 330 PA 1968.

Drug Screening:  All DK employees are screened using a five panel immunoassay (EMIT) test.  Each specimen is assayed for the presence of the following compounds at the detection levels indicated.
