The Rothbury Festival was a Success! DK recently deployed over 230 security personnel for the first annual Rothbury Festival over the 4th of July weekend in Rothbury, MI. This was the largest event and security deployment in DK’s history, as we provided approximately 11,000 hours of coverage in one week for a single event. Our staff was outstanding, and we truly thank all of you for your hard work, long hours and dedication. We set up a compound on-site where our staff camped and lived throughout the week. Food and basic necessities were provided to us by the festival, allowing us to focus solely on providing security services and trying to get some sleep in between! We provided security coverage to all areas including main gate can and bottle search, three stages, VIP areas, artist compound, Sherwood Forest, all restricted access points throughout the perimeter of the property, and more. This experience was incredible, and we look forward to our next challenge as a team.DK is Live 24 / 7:The Control Center is Here! We are incredibly proud to announce the opening of our 24 / 7 control center. Our long-term dream, is finally a reality. Great Job Northern Michigan Crew! The following is an excerpt taken from a letter written on 2/4/08 by a client, regarding a high risk event occurring at the client site: "The DK Security team was absolutely incredible in their demeanor and professionalism. This group of gentlemen had a very tough task to accomplish and did so without question. With the construction going on in the first two floors, these men had their hands full and still managed a very high level of security. The only complaints from the public or staff included DK being too thorough -- as we all know, there is no such thing in the security business. When asked for help, they (DK) were at our sides in seconds and always willing to give more of themselves." Our Northern Michigan Security officers are led by Mr. Edward Moore. DK Promotions 1/2008 Mr. Steve Pekrul has been promoted to Vice President of Operations overseeing our Uniform Security Division and Event Management Division. Mr. Pekrul is a former Supervisory Deputy U.S. Marshal with extensive experience in law enforcement, security, investigations and executive protection. Congratulations Steve! 12/2007 Ms. Tracy Barnum has been promoted to Operations Manager in our Uniform Security Division. Ms. Barnum is a criminal justice and police academy graduate with experience in uniform security, loss prevention / store detective and investigations. Congratulations Tracy!
DK Promotions Dr. Kathryn Kendall Burrill has been appointed as Chief Operating Officer / Senior Vice President; Mr. Joe Budnik has been appointed as Director of Security Operations; Mr. Steve Pekrul has been promoted to Site Manager (Uniform Security and Event Management at DeVos Place); Ms. Heather Block has been promoted to Operations Manager (Retail Loss Prevention). Presidential FuneralWe are truly honored to have had the opportunity to provide security services at the DeVos Place throughout the week of President Ford's funeral. Our staff went above and beyond, managing over 57,000 people filtering through DeVos Place while paying their respects. It was an incredible experience to have been a part of this moment in history and we couldn't be more proud of our staff. Michigan Supreme Court Security Contract DK was recently awarded a 3 year contract with the Michigan Supreme Court and Court of Appeals. Website Updates We are in the process of adding content to our website on a daily basis, so please check back frequently to see what's new. DK's Online Background Screening Process InstaScreen is our new on-line pre-employment and tenant screening tool. This state of the art on-line process is easy to use and gives instant results on many products ordered. Clients may check the status of their order at anytime. Once an order is complete the client will be notified via email. Training consists of approximately 15 minutes and can be conducted over the telephone.
